If they want to cut the price even more after the sale then so be it.  I've worked a lot in retail and it's pretty standard practice for many companies to have an item on sale pre Christmas then as soon as it's over then cut them even more.  

There should be a celebration not a witch hunt.  People who bought in the high season got a sweat deal.  People who didn't get an even sweeter deal.  Both parties win.  

I see you have a devil's advocate fetish. It seems from what the OP is saying that the game didn't go back up to the price even for a moment. It was the last of the 12 deals of Christmas deals and right after that boom, price cut.
