I obviously don't know anything about you or Jim. But from what I read, I think he'll forgive you sometime, but not too soon. But even if that's the case, you should continue to feel sorry indefinitely. Hopefully you learned something from that. Always treat other people the way you like to be treated.
I won't point my finger at you though like so many other people do in this thread. We all do stupid things we regret afterwards, I don't believe anyone in here has been a perfect person for all their lives. At least you had the courage to actually tell him the truth. I know enough people who would have been like "I don't know what that crazy bitch's talking about!" or something in such a situation. Hell, I don't even know if I were honest if I was that cornered.
