Would Metroid Prime Federation Force have worked better as a F-Zero spinoff?

The backlash is that the wii u isn't looking like it will get a metroid. And I'd imagine the same response would occur if it was an fzero spin-off, although I've always felt a captain falcon bounty hunter game would be awesome.
