Hmm...probably if the industry started moving towards a subscription model, I'd be less inclined to keep up this hobby. I'm sure it'd work for some people, but I'm more the kind of person that enjoys squeezing his games dry for months on end, or coming back to his games years down the line, rather than jumping from game to game. I also prefer to own my games. Digitally or physically doesn't really matter to me, just as long as I'm not dependent on a company's servers or my internet connection to play the games I like. Simply renting games doesn't really work for me.
Like I said, I'm sure it'd work for some people, but I really don't anticipate a subscription model being worthwhile for me.
