Like on the bottle of surface cleaners where it says "99.9% of germs dead",
They are just covering their ass, they don't want to find out there has been a small defect with a component and half of their customers have submerged their phones under warranty thus leading to massive replacement orders and a division loss. This is a dissuasion technique and something that will be useful if they were ever brought to court for something.
I owned an Xperia Z and found it to be a fantastic phone and it held up under water with a lot of lime in it.... the glass was also excellent and survived many falls perfectly. The battery lasts longer than most others and the Walkman app is better than itunes. It is a huge pity more people dont buy them.
