If that's why they stay so high, how does he explain why they start so much higher than physical in the first place then?

I'm not sure how relevant that is in America, but in the UK it's stupid expensive I got Arkham Knight from amazon for £38 whereas on the PS Store it costs £55.

But there might be other reasons for costing more in other countries. I haven't heard any of these reasons but hey..

There is a reason for all this. PSN Store and Xbox Live Store and all those, they do not compete with anyone like highstreet stores do. UK competition forces the online and highstreet stores to constantly change their prices, do sales, deals because they compete with each other, probably even talk to each other (one says I'm lowering the cost of CoD this week, the other responds by lowering the cost of Halo or something).

PS compete with nothing, it's the only one available on the Platstation. There isn't another digital store available for PS. So as they don't need to compete they fix the prices. Sadly what PS Europe don't get is how UK stores work, so a RRP of £55 stays at £55 on the store while all other UK retails know you can't sell games for £55 so they lower it to £45 instantly, after that the compete and tussle for your pound.

Hmm, pie.
