I just think its funny that Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii both average under 83% (meaning they are about as good as Heavenly Sword) yet no one seems to care. Is Wii Fit the last big hitter announced this year for the Wii?

I mean they will probably still sell, but it will just prove once again that the Wii sells any crappy game with Wii or Mario infront of it. Im happy to see that reviewers have stopped giving Nintendo a free pass on games and actually started judging by quality over hype. Is there anything left on the Wii for the rest of the year thats already announced or are they going to pull and EA and release Mario____08 with updated rosters?

They gotta have something big planned for E3, but if they announce Wii cooking or anything of that nature I think im going to piss myself from laughter, lol.

I don't consider games with 80% average crappy but that's just my opinion.

According to many on this site when Heavenly Sword was released its 80% was crappy. I really dont think Heavenly Sword is nearly as hyped as these two mediocre games. While I dont think review scores matter, its just kinda dealing the blow back to Nintendo fanboy hypocrites.

You all say this and that about how the PS3 sucks and gets low review scores. But hell, two of the biggest Wii games of the year just flopped in terms of quality. They might sell a lot, but just reaffirms that Nintendo owns its console entirely and third party developers might as well not even make an effort placing games on the platform, unless they plan to put Mario in it.

But quality doesn't matter on the Wii. Its a console MADE for shovelware. Nintendo can sell as many consoles as they want to (and they will be happy) but as far as fanboys go you can't be taken seriously. The Wii isn't anything but a quick way to make money for developers. Putting anything worthwhile on the console wont matter because

1. Anything you make on the console won't ever be appreciated for its artistic quality.

2. Regardless of how good or bad a game is on the console it just needs to meet two specic requirements to sell well. Why spend money/time and effort/ your main IP on the Wii when in the long run it won't even matter?

The Wii has gone from being extremely threatening to old style gaming to a device that is irrelevant to mainstream gaming everywhere but Japan. Its the cool thing to have, but no one really considers it to be next gen must own console. Its simply a Wii, a piece of hardware that hooks up to the TV that enables you to use the Wii-mote. What games do you get to use the Wii-mote on? Who the f*ck cares! Just give them any image on screen with a known character to shake the controller at and most people dont care.

(I can't believe how big this thread has gotten! Sweeeeet. Just wait until MGS4 releases when the Wii has absolutely nothing on the table. I wonder how defensive marioboys will get then when the PS3 starts outselling it WW for a couple of weeks )

Hahaha, you said marioboys.  You're totally nuts.

You said Wii's irrelevant to mainstream gaming everywhere but Japan.  This makes me laugh because it is the dominant console in every single territory and is creating new gamers.  THE WII IS MAINSTREAM GAMING.  The PS3 and 360 are fighting for 2nd place with their "niche" HD graphics... which are irrelevant to fun factor, and sales.

You also said Wii games will NEVER be appreciated for their artistic quality.  This makes me laugh because it's just total bullshit.  Games on every system ever are appreciated for their artistic quality.  The art itself is the most expensive facet of any game on any system.

Nice move with MGS4 though, considering MGS games have NEVER EVER been half as big as a GTA or a Halo.  GTA4 was the last time you got to pull a "wait until game x."  It's over.  It's done.  Stop it.  Please.  Go hide under your bridge and eat some babies.
