Speculation: What I'm thinking is that the picture is uploaded into a data cache for VGChartz that has a file size limit. Filling it may slow the site down or cause slow loading for other users. Not too sure about that part.

Hmm we will see how this goes for now. If it becomes too much of an issue, I will remove it from the tutorial

Of course I could be completely wrong. You probably know better than I do about this type of thing
