I am simply going to try and adress all of the main points of critisism being thrown at Battlefront right now.  It's not that I think this 100% without a doubt will be a perfect game, but I have never seen so many silly complaints.  So without further ado:

1) This is NOT Battlefront 3

I think this needs to be said right off that bat.  Battlefront 2 is a decade old game that while great is past outdated.  DICE basically has to completely start over at the drawing board here, so going in with the mindset that this is a direct follow-up to BF2 is already setting yourself up for disapointment.

2) Battlefront never had a real campaign

Why people would complain about BF not having a campaign is so nonsensical that it borders on being a parody of the gaming population.  The "Campaign" in the previous BF's was the most tacked on SP I have ever seen.  It was Instant Action with a different name.   Furthermore they have already said there will be a bot mode, and even if there wasn't it is no longer really necessary.  The PS2 era lacked ubiquitous online capabilites but it is 2015 and we can play together now.  I feel like a lot of the disapointment is from Star Wars fans who just want another great SW SP game.  We all do, but Battlefront isn't that game.  I'm sorry.

3) It's time to forget the Prequels

I don't know if anyone has noticed but it is clear that the people behind the new starwars movies wish the pre-quels had never been made - and frankly almost all star wars fans do as well.  The fact is that this game is about the original trilogy and the new one.  If the prequel movies weren't released at the same time as the first 2 battlefronts they probably wouldn't have shoved them in either.  I will miss Droidekas, but the fact is that this will make little difference in practice.

4) No Space Battles

Am I the only one who played a space battle once every 5 instant action maps?  They were always half-assed and lacked attention to detail.  The interiors of the ships were boring, the battles always dragged on, and for some reason they didn't even bother to remove gravity from outside the ships.  This game is shipping with 10 maps, which is above the average 8 most games ship with, and one Battlefront map is the size of 8 call of duty maps.  So there will be plenty of content, and it will be done right.  Will there be a space battle DLC?  Probably, and there is nothing wrong with that.  They will take the time to do it right and we will be rewarded with far better space battles than were in any of the previous games.

5) Those Graphics are totally believable

The only people who don't believe the In-Engine footage is real are those who haven't played BF3/4 maxed out.  This is the next great leap in visuals for a DICE MP shooter.  The last big leap was from Battlefield 2 to 3 which looked like this:

Is it really crazy that this is next?:

BF4 looks close to that good at times already!

5) Battlefront was ALWAYS a Battlefield clone

People seem to be worried that Battlefront will just be BF4 with lasers.  Well first of all I think they have already demonstrated enough little changes to show this will be unique: The support bubble, full third person support, unique gamemodes, and a different player count.  This will be its own beast, but yes it will have a lot in common with Battlefield because it ALWAYS DID!

6) No Galactic Conquest

Honest to god this is the one thing I will REALLY miss.  However I can't say I am surprised.  After all is it just me or was this gamemode never really appreciated?  It seems like no one was really putting this at the top of their list for things they wanted in "Battlefront 3."  Well we weren't loud enough, and so yep they thought (Maybe correctly to a certain extent) that we don't care.  Too late now.

7) Non-Drivable AT-AT's

I am gonna get a ton of hate for this, but here it goes: AT-AT's shouldn't be driven by players.  Let me explain - I think most people's fond memories of these things were of themselves conquoring a battlefield...WITH BOTS!  The AT-AT's in the hoth maps for example had to be effectively utilized for the Empire to win.  That is fine in a game where you can always have full control over said  vehicle.  However this is a 2015 MP shooter.  Do any of you really want that guy who can't take off in a helicopter to be the deciding factor in whether or not your team wins?!  What if he just suicides it so you lose right away?  Plus how do you make something so strong balanced unless it acts as a moving mega-objective?  After all that is always what it was meant to be.  Last, did anyone play the PSP battlfronts?  In many ways "Renegade Squadron" on the PSP was by far the best game of the series so far.  That was also the first one to remove player contol of AT-AT's.  It worked just fine, believe me.

Well that was long!  I don't consider myself the expert of all things game design but I just felt like getting all of thoughts down in one place.  Let's wait for the E3 gameplay before we write this game off!
