Oh yeah it's awful here. Tax rates are already bad as it is in most of Canada, but video game prices for most game is $10 than US games (so on average about $70 a PS4/XOne game). Lately I've been doing all my shopping online, mostly PSN because the pricing on games are usually the same (though AAA games still are 10$ more most of the time) and I avoid taxes.
