Outside of a handful, the market for $500+ GPUs is only for bragging rights. Titan Z, X, 390X, blah.
What I'm interested is the real followup to the 290 and 970 deals out right now. The pricing is so good on those that it's awesome. Kind of humbling to think you can CF a pair of cheap 290s and blow a 390X or Titan X away (for much less $/perf).
