On PC people are already gaming from in 4K from 2013 (sure you needed like two Geforce Titans but they did). The reason why developpers are struggling on consoles is more a problem of how the Xone and PS4 are kind of average hardware wise.
Edit: Possible to stream games to your console 4K wise maybe?
