Oh my god, really? There's a petition for this?

You guys need to find something better do with your time. She'd be one person in a dev team of hundreds, I highly doubt she's going to ruin the game. If, by some chance, Mirror's Edge 2 ends up being less that stellar, the blame for that will fall on the whole team, not just her.

I mean SERIOUSLY, people. There are so. many. problems. that are bigger than this. How about a petition to get Ubisoft and Activision to stop shamelessly gouging consumers with drip-fed DLC? Or one asking the big third-party publishers to stop driving franchises into the ground by releasing a new iteration every year, sometimes twice a year? Or, I don't know, allowing games the same recognition as film and allowing them to be sold if they have an R rating, anywhere in the developed world? Or not having GTAV banned from Target throughout Australia because some concerned parents kicked up a fuss? Or having games actually work properly from the first day of their release?

Compared to any of those issues, this just looks like petty nonsense.

It's not as much as her ruining the game as it is that Devs are actually listening to her.  That just legitimizes FF and it could be the start of a potential trend.

Sure the publishers and triple A game devs have issues but I believe in voting with your dollars.  Whatever you reward you get more of.  It's that simple.  I don't buy Ubisoft games or CAll of Duty games out of principle (and because I saw the direction the games were going early on)

The people that banned GTA V aren't concerned parents, they're the same people that agree with Anita.  We call them Social Justice Warriors and their number one goal is to destroy fun.  Keep taking that blue pill tho

Bahahahahaha, I can't believe you said that. Dogmatic much? And thank you, I'm aware of SJWs. I wasn't born yesterday.

I'll believe the damage of Sarkessian's involvement when I see it. As opposed to everything else I just mentioned, which has demonstrable consequences right now. But hey, if you want to go promoting a sexist online petition like it's actually going to achieve something, be my guest.

Comon really?  That's so lazy and so shopworn.  How boring.  Anyway, it's not about the damage she may or may not do to the game.  Maybe you missed that part of my post.  It's that simply inviting her to consult (con + insult = consult) on a fairly high profile videogame is just validating McIntosh's brand of insanity which involves censorship and trying to force political correctness on the creative process.  Maybe you agree with them.  I don't.

Ubisoft and EA don't bother me in the slightest.  Their games suck, if you buy them, more fool you.

sexism
ˈsɛksɪz(ə)m/
noun
noun: sexism
prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.

If the shoe fits.

You should Google "the seven levels of disagreement". Picking on a single word in my post doesn't exactly make your case look stronger.

Mark my words, the game will come out and will be no worse for it. Nobody's going to steal gaming from men and there's plenty of room for different inputs that might actually make games more diverse. How can that be a bad thing? How has the involvement of women in video games - including women like Sarkeesian - actually made gaming worse? I can tell you right now that you won't be able to give me a single well-reasoned answer to that last question.

You know what might happen? Her unique input might allow those developers to think of something they hadn't thought of. At that point, it's up to them if they actually take that input on board, but they won't do so unless they see some merit in it.

And I don't care of Ubisoft or EA, lol. Not sure where that comment came from. I'm a Nintendo gamer, Ubisoft and EA haven't exactly been supportive of them.
