My God, just calm yourself down. They bought the XB1 because it was dirt cheap, not because of any loyalty. This is ONE month out of a full year of being beaten. For a FULL year hundreds of Gaffers moved over to the PS4 from the 360.

I'm sorry if you felt my comment was aggressive which it wasn't by the way. I was merely making a statement about how I think that the vast majority of Xbox 360 owners in the U.S are most likely going to upgrade to XBONE and the latest NPD supports this albeit with the help of a price advantage too. Serious question, why do you get so excited about a brand name? As a 360 owner I couldn't care less whether or not the One succeeds or fails because I can simply purchase a PS4 and get a comperable experience.

I do like MS products and certainly like the Xbox from a gaming perspective.  However that aside, I have an interest in console sales just as I am sure you do otherwiwe we would not be on this site enjoying these discussions. And discussing, predicting the sales of favourite consoles is what the majority of people do here. Lets not pretend it is about anything else.  I have long held the view that the argument regarding most x360 owners migrating over to ps4 is a flawed assumption and that these holidays in the U.S would illustrate my point. - Hence my response to the purely anecdotal comment of several hundred people on GAF moving over to PS4. So tell us, what do you likee about this site. What motivates your thread discussions and posts?


The 360 outsold the PS3 by approximately 66 percent in the USA LTD. The XBOne outsold the PS4 by approximately 36% in the USA during November. Basic logic dictates that the migration of Xbox gamers to the Playstation brand continued during November which was by far the best the XBOne has performed versus the PS4 all year. Your assertion that 360 owners are not migrating over to the PS4 is verifiably false, even during the XBOne's absolute peak. Additionally, I find it highly unlikely that Microsoft is going to continue to run the Xbox division as if it were a charity.

I like visiting this site to learn about the gaming industry. I do not have any console prefernce, I have migrated from one brand to another and have owned more than two dozen systems manufactured by eight different companies. I do not root for a specific system although I have been called a fanboy of SEGA, Nintendo, Playstation, Xbox and PC on many occasions. I come here to gain a greater understanding of the trends that influence the industry that I love. I also love watching people make completely uneducated guesses and ludicrous predictions based upon wishful thinking and personal bias instead of the information we have available to us.

TL/DR

Even if the Xbox division could maintain these loses (Spoiler: they can't) the XBOne will still cede a considerable portion of the American market to the PS4.

I come here because I like understanding the video game industry, not to be a cheerleader for any particular console or brand :P
