Target is, first and foremost, a business. You can argue the whys and wherefores until the cows come home but at the end of the day if they are receiving complaints from their actual customers they have to consider the impact of not responding, particularly in this era of social media.

How many of us actually care if this game is available in Target or not? How many of us actually buy games from Target? Are we Target's target demographic? Do they really risk losing a significant amount of business by not stocking the game? Do they risk losing business by keeping the game in stock? Does it stop us from buying the game elsewhere?

I start to get concerned when politicians get on their soap boxes about these kind of issues and I would be concerned if this was elevated beyond a couple of stores or got significant media coverage but that's only going to happen if people start having tantrums about it.  Ultimately Target is a business and they have to keep their actual customers happy and have no reason to pander to the whims of people on the internet who never shop in their stores anyway.
