Most important stat on a tv for gaming is response time in ms. That is why Sony's Brivia TV lineup is the only television a gamer should be considering. In most cases they have twice the response time of the next brand.

This is also the reason LCD in general are garbage. The old SXRD rear projection models had 8ms or better response times. Even Bravias only reach 18 to 20ms now days. Other manufactures range from mid 30's to mid 50's.

Refresh rate is another story. Most 4k tv's are only native 60hz refresh and use their respective companies buzz word for whatever software based image blending tech they are using. At this point any high end model from Sony, Samsung, LG, or Sharp will do a great job of producing fast paced scence without artifacting.

At the end of the day though. It all comes down to personal preference. A display can be miles ahead on paper, but if it does not sit right through your eyes then its not right for you. The best thing to do is put some high quality video of something you like on you phone and hook it up at you local tv store. Then you see quality content that you like on every tv. At that point you make a decision based on your preferences and not the opinions of others.

Good luck on your search, and enjoy your 4K world.
