Of course it will. DLC is not only about money - but also about "advertising" the game again. But that time with a dedicated fan base which will talk even more about it to others.
Another view point is that you get MORE VALUE for the game. Given the MK8 DLC prices this is not only psychologically true but money wise too 
Also: every bit of content help selling Wii Us. I wouldn't be surprised to so even more DLC packs for MK8 over the next years to come...
