We also found out some of the leaked photos were taken before some of them were 18, making a few of them illegal.

And apparently these were stolen because A: none of the stars knew that their i-devices were syncing their photos to the cloud and B: they had piss weak passwords. So it was a targeted attack to grab information to break past password hints and other such things.
