I have not played seriously on a Nintendo platform since the N64 and I don't miss Nintendo nor am I interested in going back. My tastes have changed massively over the years, yet Nintendo have done very little to their platform lineup which is very stylised towards one, small audience. Every other platform has a wide range of games and styles to choose from - serious rpgs (mass effect, dragon age, dark souls), mmos (WoW, EvE a bagillion free ones), relaxed games, horror, fps, indie etc. Nintendo only has Nintendo styled (eg more cartoonish and less serious) games.

I'll put it to you another way; if I want to play a mature and indepth game, what would Nintendo offer me? How about a racing sim? RTS? Innovative indie platformer?

It's litterally impossible for nintendo to make an indie game. pikmin is an RTS. racing sims just aren't there style.

I understand that your tastes have changed, but once you grow up and realize mature games don't make you more mature, Nintendo really has a wide range of offerings as far as genres go.

*facepalm*

One rts which is very limited compared to SC2 or SupCom etc. Racing sims are a huge market - not their style = millions of lost sales/customers.

And what the hell are you on about "make you more mature"? Has it ever occured to you that people do actually mature and prefer mature storylines. Just look at the success of Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad - people like mature content. You can stick with your games, but I want games made for adults eg. solid scripts, indepth storylines etc...and clealry more people want that then Mario.

All I'm saying is that a mature story just means more violence and sex. If you want porn in your game, fine by me, but I would hardly call it a requirement. If you look at movies, the most popular are not packed the blood and gore, and ratings generally agree. I just don't see how gore and sex would make it more appealling if you weren't trying to compensate for something.

Erm, how old are you? I'm guessing quite young as you have failed to grasp what a mature story is. Have you ever actually seen anything for adults like Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad? I'm guessing not as you spewed out that nonsense. You ignore complexity of the story, character development and the depth of the characters. How quickly could you sum up any Nintendo character compared to Walter White or Tony Stark? The storyine of any major hit TV show in the last few years compared to a Nintnedo story?

The issue is Nintendo offers very basic games and not many people want that.
