I'm not pro or contra any hardware. But console wise, PS3 is by far the most future pof.

On handhelds, it's Nintendo DS that grabs most of my attention the most.

Edit: and indeed, the DS shows the most varied and interesting library of games concerning handheld gaming.

Its the homebrew stuff that mostly kills the software sales of the PSP and therefore prevents to bring a larger amount of new releases to the PSP.

Hm... Homebrew stuff on the PSP is a thorn in the side of game developers, but on the DS, R4 and R3 carts are much easier for consumers to never have to pay for software again. So in DS, developers have two enemies: illegaly downloaded software used trough R4 cartridges, and Nintendo's own softwate, which takes up much of the sales.

 

But still, as with the original PlayStation, hardware sales are extremely high, so even with these drawbacks, developing for DS is still worth it. 

 

Not sure if you mean bootleg with that as well, or else there are 3 enemies on the DS, which include for Nintendo as well. One gaze at Ebay for instance and you'll be overwhelmed by an overload of illegal copied DS software... and worst part of it all is... most consumers who buy these type of games from sellers are not even aware of that. Concerning that, I can be even more pissed about.
