I'm sure microsoft still got a lot of core fans, despite the kinect bundle, DRM, lack of 360 exclusives etc. Problem is the users that are gonna shell out $399 for a slightly better version Watchdogs or Destiny- essentially the early adopters shaping the competition at the moment- are the informed gamers who have been paying attention for the last fews year and have been turned off by MS. The casual lot whom Microsoft probably still have power with aren't gonna be paying XO/PS4 much attention until they're beloved franchises go next gen only(AC, Halo, COD), or the different between cross gen is night and day, or until next gen gets the big next thing (Evolve, witcher 3 etc)
