The GameCube controller was fairly shat. Perhaps the worst console controller of all time. It was cheap feeling and looked more like a toy than a controller. It also was less useful than previous controllers due to its f'd up d-pad and unusable facebutton configuration, not to mention the really cheap feeling triggers with the springs in them. It was just a bad controller with lots of things that were not very usable: the d-pad was too small, the shoulder buttons were squishy and unresponsive, Y, Z, and X buttons were awkwardly placed and difficult to reach, the right analog stick REALLY looked like something out of Fisher Price. It was really just a two button controller with a bad analog stick.
I don't think anyone who praises it is actually being sincere.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
