How am I wrong? They unbundled the kinnect, and sold it at a lower price. That's not a price drop. 
So let's look at a comparable situation. Say you want to buy a restaurant. If you buy it furnished completely, it will cost $100,000. If you buy it without any, it will cost $80,000. You also price it out to find that it will cost 20,000 to furnish it if you don't pay the 100,000. You're not really getting the building at a lower price... 

LOL   The official entry point into an X1 was $499.99. Now it's $399.99. You can try and spin it with analogies all you want. In the end you would be wrong and only sound like a bad MS PR statement from NPD.

I find it hilarious that you don't understand such a simple idea. the xbox one costs $400. The xbox one AND the kinnect cost $500. 

Oh I understand it. It's just you don't understand numbers. They dropped the kinect so they could drop the price. It's a price drop. I get the fact that you don't want to admit it. But who cares?  I and most likely quite a few others here consider it a price drop. I can't make it anymore clearer then that. If you don't see it...then whatever, no matter. Enjoy your $80,000 restaurant  and good day.

Well, I guess consumers don't see it as a price drop, considering that sales were barely effected. You're now buying one thing instead of two. That's the difference. I'm running out of ways to illistrate how this isn't a price drop though.
