But ask yourself this... how much development effort would it take for people on wii U to buy the non-gimped version? Its simply not true that they would come close to the naturally superior PS4/X1 versions (even assuming wii U was optimised and PS4/X1 wasnt). Even the PS3 and 360 dont come close, wii U would have no chance and therefore it wouldnt be worth it.

You once told me that sales on the vita couldnt even justify the cost of a port, so im not sure why you dont consider the wii U lucky enough to even be getting ports.

Who said anything about a comparison to PS4/Xbone? Come on dude, don't strawman. I'm talking about it being gimped compared to PS3/360, for which there is no excuse.

In the Vita discussion I didn't "tell you" anything, I simply theorised that maybe porting to Vita from PS3/360 was more expensive than porting to Wii U.

I meant sales.

If the PS360 cant match the PS4/X1 on sales even with 80m install base, the wii U isnt going to come close, so it will always be last priority. It still gets better treatment than the vita, even though the majority of games which are both on wii U and vita, have sold better on vita.

You can say "maybe" porting to vita is expensive, the same way I can say "maybe" wii U optimisation costs too much.
