1.  "Pretty much a sequel" indicates that it reuses a lot of the same content.  Developed by Comcept I believe?

2.  Made by Alfa is very relevant as it shows that Sony is not willing to devote their developers to Vita titles.  There is nothing necessarily wrong with funding third party projects, but you should also be developing games in house.

3.  Was there really a clamor for Borderlands 2 two years after the original release?  If so why didn't anyone buy it?  Even bundled with the Vita sales are pitiful.  Shows how much being a highly requested title would mean for type 0 I guess.

4.  Oh do they?  They could have fooled me with their E3 presentation.  They haven't stopped all production, but their production is exceedingly low.  Their support, if you want to call it that, is basically the bare minimum.

Honestly is Sony putting their best effort into making the Vita a success?  If they're not, why should a third party invest in the console?

1.Like I also said, its more of a sequel than Monster Hunter iterations and that doesn't seem to impede people's hype for that series. What is a sequel? sharpened mechanics and slight improvements over a previous entry is how I define it. SS Delta has that in excess. Complete new moves and combo mechanics, has the original Story Mode..... but also has an equally large second story mode, new bosses and enemy types, and sharper graphics. Only thing that keeps people from thinking this is a sequel is the fact their is no "2" in the name.

2. Sony has hired countless small 3rd party studios to work on Vita titles. Why is this such a problem? They need their bigger studios to pump out stuff for PS4 obviously. If these smaller companies were just attached to one of their 1st Party studios in name would it really make a difference? These studios currently know more about developing on handheld than Naughty Dog does. Also in many of these game's development Sony assists in making them via Japan Studios. Japan also has a part in the Soul Sacrifice and Freedom Wars series. Not to mention SJS is making Gravity Rush 2 of their own for Vita.

3. Vita Owners have prayed for a Borderlands Vita release......but I think most were expecting an original effort and not a port of like you said, 2+ year old game. Something more in the line of AC Liberations, COD Blacklist, etc. Not to mention the BL2 bomb was dropped out of thin air and many don't even know it was to exist really, let alone it has RELEASED. The release date for the BL2 bundle was not officially stated until like a week or two before the game's release. From what I am told, the BL2 bundle is for the most part sold out at Gamestop. Gamestop hasn't sold a new Vita until this bundle in months. Is Sony handling Vita promoting horribly? I would most def say yes, but they really are trying in actual content.

4. Yes they do, Gravity Rush 2 being one and Invizimals, I'm sure plenty more. Sony's E3 had to concentrate on PS4 mostly....because everytime they mention Vita at the conference many people become immediately dismissive and start saying "Sony wasted time talking about Vita/NOT PS4 GAEMZ!". PS4 is their bread winner, everyone knows that, so E3 being the biggest conf for such a thing it had to take center stage. They might do like they did last year and Save Vita news for Gamescom/TGS. Any Vita news would have really been overshadowed by PS4 stuff regardless. Also they did show of Playstation TV(aka Vita TV) which actually is a pretty nice piece of kit. It plays Vita games on your TV, as well as can stream apps and PS3 games via PSNow, and can allow you to access your PS4 library from a different room, all for a low price of $99. That is pretty relevant to Vita.

1.  I haven't played the game but the sources I've looked at indicate that the changes are less drastic than you indicate (including the Soul Sacrifice wiki). Not sure what Monster Hunter has to do with this.

2.  " They need their bigger studios to pump out stuff for PS4 obviously".  Exactly.  They use their big studios for PS4 stuff because the Vita is not a priority.  Comparitively, Nintendo has some of their top developers working on 3DS stuff.  If Sony doesn't care enough about the VIta to use their top developers, why should Square give a shit?

Oh and Naughty Dog can't make a PS3 game?  Didn't you yourself say Vita is a system that is basically "Porting for Dummies". From day one Sony showed how any PS3 level game could be ported to Vita in a matter of WEEKS.  So by that logic, if Naughty Dog could develop for PS3, it shouldn't be much different than porting it for the Vita.  Unless Vita is exceedingly difficulty to program for, I'm sure Naughty Dog could adapt.

3.   I wouldn't call a port of a 2 year old game trying, especially with all of the terrible marketing you pointed out.  And what content have they put out before Borderlands?  I honestly can't remember any retail games on Vita published by Sony between Tearaway and Borderlands.

The PS4 is their breadwinner because they put effort into making it a success.  If Sony isn't willing to give the Vita any spotlight or show time how is it going to turn things around?  How are they going to develop a fanbase that would make it worthwhile?  If Sony is treating the Vita as an afterthought, why shouldn't Square?  Sony had time for the powers TV show at their conference but not the Vita?  And you're saying Square is the one shitting on Vita fans?  Sony refers to the Vita as an extender of the PS4 and you expect Square to support it?

Do you really think Murusaki Baby and Soul Sacrifice Delta are going to push Vita's sales?  If the hardware isn't selling and Sony isn't doing much to change things, why should Square devote the resources to a port/localization?  Not Square's fault Vita is a failure.

1. I refer to monster hunter because SS Delta is in the similar vein of game where each iteration takes seemingly more incrimental steps forward. SSD has the added benefit of telling a story as well and Delta has an original one to tell that vanilla doesn't. Thats what makes it more a sequel

2.None of Sony's bigger studios (minus Media Molecule) has experience building a game around a handheld's strengths. They haven't been had the practice Nintendo's studios have over a long running line of handhelds. Sony has afforded smaller studios, with fresher minds in this sense to look and see what they can do with it. And yes, Vita is a Porting Made Easy device, but why would Sony waste their Top studio's time if they are just gonna do ports of their own games? They can hire another studio to do that, let ND and co continue to focus on PS4, and get just about the same results. So far, studios like Cambridge(KZ:Mercs), Media Molecule(Tearaway), Tarsier(LBP Vita), Ready at Dawn(GoW for PSP), and Bend (Daxter PSP,Uncharted:GA) have shown these seemingly small no name studios can show much promise in this arena, and even garner a name for themselves from it. Seems like a much better plan for building a Vita library rather than gimping their strong PS4 game devs efforts whom they need to fight off higher stakes.

3. Sony's 1st Party has put out plenty since the Vita's debut. Their Q1 of 2014 hasn't been as strong but they have garnered much in the 3rd Party Department since then. More games release for Vita on a monthly basis than on 3DS. This year has seen Soul Sacrifice Delta, GoW Collections Vita,FFX/X-2 HD, Dangan Ronpa:Trigger Happy Havoc,MLB14:The Show,Borderlands 2, Toukiden, Farming Simulator 14, Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, Conception II, Mind=0, Sorcery Saga, Demon Gaze, Playstation Vita Pets, etc. A healthy dose of every genre from both 1st Party IPs as well as 3rd Party.

Sony has shown strong support for Vita by getting 3rd Parties and Indies to make games for it, its biggest short coming is still.....advertising. The stupid mantra that it "has no games" is still alive and kicking even when its the farthest from the truth. This isn't just Vita, but a Sony thing all around. PS3 and PSP also suffered from it. They have always sucked at it. Sometimes they are on a good streak....then it goes down the toilet again. Sony for whatever reason does not believe too much in advertising their products. They prefer the cheaper and more sure method of word of mouth.

PS4 is their bread winner because it has a long standing pedigree of success in the console market and takes FAR less effort to convince people to buy. If this was Sony's first console foray where they had little to no standing in either market we would be having a different conversation. We also seem to sometimes forget Sony is in a severe financial crisis right now. They do not have the pull to gamble with many things anymore. They are working within the confines of what is possible without losing profitability. Every Vita sold is small hit, while Vita owners buy games by the bucket load making them profit. They cannot afford right now to lose profitability in the slightest.

SSD(maybe if released at retail, maybe not) and Murasaki Baby...no, Freedom Wars and Invizamals(Extremely popular in EU on PSP) yes. They were also betting on BL2 to push sales....which it did because those bundles are now hard to find(they were limited quantity anyway). They also believe the appeal of a cheaper set top box that offers much stronger gaming functionality will help boost Vita(which PSTV basically is).
