Destiny is like Titanfall. It will sell well at first but it's not the type of game that will change the situation. Games like Destiny have never tracked that high on sales numbers. The best FPS games of all time have trouble breaching the 10 million sales mark, why should destiny be any different. At best it will give a short boost to whatever numbers Sony is already getting with the PS4.
Nintendo however is exactly the type of company who can turn things around with even a single game. It's the benefit of being the most innovative company and its the proof that they are the innovative one.
All Nintendo had to do this E3 was ride the high they had going for them after Mario Kart's release. They planned that release date to just before E3 and they did it because they knew they had to go for the win this time.
