As much as i would love a new Wii Sports, i don`t think it really suits the gamepad.
These type of games are great for the Wiimote or Kinect because you can move around freely and mimick something.
So, basically, Nintendo would have to, in order to not confuse people and provide the most ease to use experience, sacrífice one of the controllers - naturally, the gamepad.

Unfortunately, Nintendo hasn`t positioned Wii U as a true sucessor to Wii. So, most likely, people would dismiss it as Wii`s time has passed.

Either wait for Wii U`s rebranding or risk hurting the franchise.

You wouldn't have to ditch the wii-mote -- you wouldn't have to make the entire game gamepad compatible either.

You'd basically use the Gamepad to augment the experience where possible. Best example I can think of would be golf in Wii Sports Club.

Driving/Flying/Aiming with the Gamepad would work fine. Among other things, there's some unexploited potential here.

I understand that the Gamepad can be helpful and who knows, even crucial to some mini game.
Actually, Wii Party U had a great minigame that utilised the gamepad and the wiimote together (the one where you transfer fish or water from the gamepad to the TV. can`t remember).

The question is, would it make for a seamless experience having to jump from one controller to another?
To me, that`s one of the things that hurt NintendoLand. Telling people to buy a Wii U for the game and also an extra controller to play a game, doesn`t help dissipate the Wii-Wii U brand confusion.

The one controller option is always the best option for consumers.
