I just fail to see why we have to keep seeing articles like this on gaming sites. Sony is a huge company and they just aren't the brand anymore that they were in the Walkman days. TV's, pc's, phones audio and mediaplayers are all markets where Sony is getting it's ass kicked. However, this has nothing to do with the ps4, which is setting record numbers (even if it is trending behind compared to 6 years ago). Like I said, Sony isn't going anywhere, they just need to cut some fat and get rid of some of their divisions. Any 6-year-old could have predicted that focussing purely on 4k tv's right now would be a bad idea for example. And of course Sony could survive on Playstation alone, hell Nintendo has done pretty good for themselves. It would just be as a different kind of company, more streamlined and with less of a focus on other consumer electronics. But there is just no chance in hell that Sony will close it's doors in the near future and stop with the ps4 all together. It's far more likely that they will actually put more resources in the ps4, and I'm sure that they will come out swinging at E3, when it's do or die time for them. |
...maybe because this is a gaming financials site.
Being based around sales numbers.
Quite honestly, we don't get half as many of these articles as we should for the big 3.
