Nintendo WiFi Connection is going down May 20th. Gamespy, whose servers were running the thing, is shutting down all their online server stuff for games by the 31st. Nintendo can't use their tech anymore.

Damn, they were caught up in the Gamespy server takedown too? That sucks. I hope they keep the servers up for the older Pokemon games somehow, I doubt it though :(
