Why would Nintendo kick themselves in the butts like that and show the new games to only a small group of people who would be buying them anyway? When they could show to a larger audience and get them excited, too?

I think that matters.

We forum go-ers (the only people who whine about this stuff) are all going to be watching it anyway, so no it really doesn't matter to us, or rather it shouldn't matter.
