I know, you love the world you just played in  and it was an excellent game but one of Final Fantasy's main strengths was that with each game you knew the story would be self contained and the world it's own while having similar themes (chocobos, Cid, summons etc.). SPOILERS TO FOLLOW.

Thinking back on the sequels that SquEnix have made they, while might have sold well, ruined the stories and the sacrifices the characters made. The ending of FF7 was essentially changed (even if it was left open to interpretation), Tidus' sacrifice was belittled. Fang and Vanille's as well even.

The reason I think of this is because of the FFX/X-2HD sales thread, I hope that SquEnix don't get the idea that making a FFX-3 game is a good idea when all we as fan really want is a new game. FFXIII was the only single player main series FF game last gen (and it wasn't that well received in a lot of the fanbase), before that we had 2 in a gen, then 3 every gen before that. Next gen with it already confirmed FFXV will have sequels, will this be the same? Will be get lumped with 1 FF game all generation? And a bunch of sequels belittling the characters achievements.

SquEnix have said recently that they want to go back to their JRPG routes, yet I feel FF won't be part of that. FFXV will still get sequels and we won't see another FF game after it until a long time after.

Also, have you listened to the Bonus Audio on FFX/X-2HD, if so what would you think if that was the X-3 premise?

Hmm, pie.
