I once bought a pre-owned game. It had a tiny scratch on it but I asked them that if it doesnt work can I return it. They said yes.
The game ended up working, so I played it for a few months, but eventually I wanted to trade it in (not return)
Took it to the store and they said they dont buy scratched games...

Thats BS, if they sold it to me then clearly they are buying them, so why not from me?

Since that day, I have no respect left for them, so if I ever have any scratched disks, I just take em on a busy saturday afternoon when they dont have time and they accept them anyway.
I'm not screwing over other customers because if they dont want it they can always return it.

I know its not like the case the OP mentioned, but the point is that they use stupid policies and are not reasonable with customers so theres no need to be reasonable with them.
