Make sure you plug it into a RGB enabled scart socket. Sometimes there are more than one and only one accepts RGB.

Don't forget to set the ps2 to RGB output.

Tell us what you think about the difference in quality.

I just set the scart cable up now a few hours ago. Honestly I didn't think there would be much difference but I could instantly tell the difference! The picture quality is awesome now! thanks for the advice again :]

I only started gaming on the PS2 in 2011 but I used a 'HD box' to connect it to my monitor and some games looked terrible. Now lately I started playing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 for the first time, an awesome game that looked like crap on my monitor, and decided to get a CRT tv. Now I'm even more addicted to the PS2, can't get enough of it, its library of great games is inexaustible.

I'm glad you like it. Looks like you have an awesome little Sony trinitron set there which to be honest would be difficult to improve apon. They made the best CRT sets.  My retro set is a 21" FST Phillips set with built in VCR. It's best feature is a true RGB mode ideal for retro consoles. Red is very intense on it.
