Polite/cultivated/intelligent Sony or Ms fans are old Nintendo fan that have moved on during the N64/GCN days.
The main annoying fans come from the PS2/XBOX/GCN era were they were spoilt with lovely 3D gfx as their first real gaming experience.
You could argue FPS fans are bad, but its mainly the teens. Those of us who grew up on FPS like duke, unreal, quake, tribes are a bit more civilised.
