I own both DS games the first one as a PAL release , the second one a NTSC import  I remember it well it came in a nice box with a jack frost plushie dressed in Raidou's uniform .

How did you like it?  I remember when the first game was released and I just didnt get around to buying it.  Glad I can do so now.

I liked the whole early twentieth century time line ,the games themselves  are good not great in the 7-8 out of 10 range.

As to the battles it's the usual random turn based system and being smt involves recruiting demons.
