You seriously think that theyre going to get this far, have john carmack on board, 50,000 current owners, a large portion of developers and supportive community, and 15 million towards completing a retail model, and just throw the towel in because they have run out of components for the current revision to make the DEVELOPMENT version?
you SERIOUSLY believe this?,.. wow.. just wow
Next you'll tell me Nintendo will just scrap the WiiU because a part theyre using is no longer being produced, too.
All it takes is a hardware revision using an alternative part, it isn't rocket science.
Not really. But, I don't think (if it's the screens) that it will cheaply replaced.
The LCD panels are manufactured still, and are readily available.
It is most likelya part to do with tracking movement, which would in the abolute worst case scenario, simply mean replacing it with a similar part and adding support for the different hardware to the driver PCB.
