Viltgance said: Ok so the Wii U has pretty much been the laughing stock since the beginning of this next generation. Has the tide finally turned and are people starting to realize that the Wii U can roll with the big boys (sony/ms). Their first party games have been excellent and seem to have the best games at this very moment in time. Will it be a Playstation/Nintendo generation with MS taking a backseat? |
No I don't think so, from my experience talking about Wii U (which I have one) with friends and colleagues, Wii U has grown itself a very poor image.
It's not really around technical specs, or game quality. It's more around a distaste for the concept, and people know it's a failure.
People also tell me that their wife is not interested in Wii U like they were in Wii, or that their kids are enamoured with iPads so they don't need a kids console.
As for me I'm happy I got a Wii U so my kids experience traditional gaming culture like I did, instead of just playing on the iPad. I don't want my kids to think of games as something you do to kill 5 minutes for free/$1 and not memorable. My 7y/o has 240 stars on SM3DW. Platforming initiation complete ;).
