The problem is that even with the Gamepad included with every console, Nintendo hasn't been making it a necessity for their vision of game design.  None of the Marios need it, WW can be played with the pro, Pikmin 3 plays best with a Wiimote, Donkey Kong does NOTHING with its features to enchance the game and Mario Kart, Smash, and Zelda will all surely function just fine without it.  Bayo 2?  X?  The prospects of a Wii Sports 3?

Personally, I was looking forward to software that couldn't be done without it but so far we have pretty much only Nintendoland and ZombiU, since games like Rayman and W101 could've worked just fine without it.  If the console were selling fine then it wouldn't be an issue but is it really worth the mandatory inclusion driving up the cost of the console at this point with all of the big games coming out this year and Nintendo's profits continuing to suffer?

If you played PIkmin 3 you'd know that the game is best Played with the WiiMote AND the gamepad. The gamepad is a second screen

I plut the gamepad under my TV and play it like DS. Pick up the screen when I gotta see interact with something

Oh, I know.  I always used the Gamepad for playing Pikmin 3 (finished it without a single casualty, BTW), and like I mentioned before I'll never play WWHD without it.  I'm not trying to dissuade people from seeing how it can enhance games.

What I'm talking about is software built around the idea of the Gamepad exclusively; something akin to Nintendoland but better - and a lot more of it.  Unlike the Wii, Nintendo just hasn't given us those things on WiiU that make you realize why they designed their console around this dynamic in the first place and that is worrying; particularly when it drives up the price of the console as a mandatory inclusion.

Deus Ex? ZombiU? Nintendo said they'd reveal more of these games at E3. They also have NFC games. and Gamepad is ace for the Virtual console.

Zelda and Metroid should use the gamepad alot.
