I say do it. Put a warning on games that need it. Done.

And you Miiverse is not mandatory people.

How well did that work out with Motion Plus?

Considering that many Consumers still think Wii U Tablet is an addon for the wii, I doubt the efficacy of this strategy.

The problem is that even with the Gamepad included with every console, Nintendo hasn't been making it a necessity for their vision of game design.  None of the Marios need it, WW can be played with the pro, Pikmin 3 plays best with a Wiimote, Donkey Kong does NOTHING with its features to enchance the game and Mario Kart, Smash, and Zelda will all surely function just fine without it.  Bayo 2?  X?  The prospects of a Wii Sports 3?

Personally, I was looking forward to software that couldn't be done without it but so far we have pretty much only Nintendoland and ZombiU, since games like Rayman and W101 could've worked just fine without it.  If the console were selling fine then it wouldn't be an issue but is it really worth the mandatory inclusion driving up the cost of the console at this point with all of the big games coming out this year and Nintendo's profits continuing to suffer?

If you played PIkmin 3 you'd know that the game is best Played with the WiiMote AND the gamepad. The gamepad is a second screen

I plut the gamepad under my TV and play it like DS. Pick up the screen when I gotta see interact with something

Mario's a challenge based game, the gamepad is mostly used to interact with that gaming world and help in co-op( I messed around for hours dong that in 3D World)

It also shows you how much imagination you lack. A system intensive game like X would benefit massively from the gamepad, you do so much management and interaction with that game that gamepad should be mandatory.

Imagine a port of The Last Story to WiiU. A game like that is dying to use the WiiU gamepad. Its an Action RPG with Parkour mechanics, aI management, cover shooting and destructable environments  Gyroscope arrow aiming, Ai management,

Shit even Sonic Boom Uses the gamepad it offers a succint solution to co-op and adventure puzzles

Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros are heavily community inspired games right?  So you put a track editor and a stage editor in them. Heck you could even create parody scenes with the characters and put that on miiverse along with general system management via touch  MK8 and Smash are begging for shit like that.

Wii Sports Club also uses the gamepad

WiiU needs more horror games
