What is exactly the drought then? I though it was a lack of physical games for a period of time. By the way this "drought" seems to apply only to Western markets, as Japan has NES Remix 1+2, Just Dance and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, all almost exclusive for the console between Donkey Kong Country and Mario Kart 8.

Yeah the "game drought" in the west that will hit after Donkey Kong. There have been hundreds of "Wii U drought" threads all over VGChartz forums.
