Chromebooks - isnt the only thing you can do is just surf the internet on Chrome? Other than that I guess you can go into all the weird websites without worrying about getting viruses since you cant really install anything lol.

But still, paying $200 for that? Even if the Asus came with a crappy Celeron or Pentium processor rather get that than a Chromebook ;(.

Chromebooks are for people who want a computer that "just works" for what "they" do.  What do these people do you ask?  They surf the inrernet, use email, watch youtube and play flash games.  For these people Chromebooks are great because it gives them all that without the constant updates & security concerns that Windows can have.

I'd rather get a cheap alternative & run Linux myself, but different people have different needs.  The Chromebook is a fine product for the right users.

Bolded stuff you wrote are things that Windows 8 does as good or better or just FUD that is no longer true with Windows 8.

Chromebook is essentially a car you can only drive on weekends but costs the same as a car that you can drive anywhere.

With that said, people like many things and if you like Chromebooks, there ain't nothing wrong with that. I liked a Sega Saturn despite being a "worse" console than the competition. However let's not try to make logical conclusions that Chromebooks are a better choice for some over several existing products, and not just Windows devices.
