This is the best Sonic idea I've heard in a long time. Totally in agreement about the "cutscenes" that are liberally applied everywhere in the recent games to make you feel like Sonic is moving SO FAST. Anyway, not sure about Zelda-inspired combat, but the idea of an open world...Hyrule Field-esque (made in a Sonic style) so that you really could GO FAST without having to worry about obstacles every two seconds would be kinda neat. Not sure how they'd structure the actual "action" and gameplay, but definitely would be interesting.
