I sincerely hope the smart devices statement was just to cool off investors. Smart devices are all the rage for tech companies, but it is the very last thing Nintendo would need to do. The 3DS is selling like hotcakes and the very last thing they need to do is drop it to put Mario on iOS.
If Iwata's serious about it, though, he needs to be gone YESTERDAY.
