If you are talking about me, I actually stated which stragety I believe is best. I stated that MS solution sees to be better because its not limited to what they can accomplish being an IPTV provider. Instead they are partnering with cable and satalite companies to provide their serice to their console. The scope of the two stragety are different. MS does not require customers to change what they are using but instead, they are trying to enhance the experience. Sony solution would be to replace what you have which means their solution has to be either superior to the customer or have something to make the customer switch. Sony solution has stiff compettion in that space while MS does not.
As a consumer, I want to see what Sony offer is as it could be something I might want but thats totaly separate from Sony stragety. I have already invested into MS stragety because I cut my cable and now use Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Crunchyroll streaming services but there are a few cable channels that I miss.
