Well, it was the UK only where Knack outsold Mario2.5World, & it happened again that Knack is once again outselling Mario the week ending dec 28th in the UK apparently.

People sayng "Flop" & "Bomb" where refering to the fact that Mario had little affect in boosting Wii U console sales.  Mario could sell 5 million in the next week, but if no new consoles sell, then was it a system mover?  A system mover is what Nintendo needs & what people said Mario would be, but it seems to have had little affect in that department.

If SSB & MK don't prove to be huge system sellers then The Wii U is cooked.

Mario is a 2.5D game in the same way GTA V is a top down 2D game. A bad and overrated one at that, but apparently always scores super high on Metacritic lol.

Anyway, Mario 3D platformers have never been huge system sellers. They never have huge openingweeks like some games on the PS3/Xbox360(most of which aren't very good at all like Fifa and CoD). They sell well in the long run. Wii U doesn't need one good game, but multiple good games like Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros 4, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Zelda, 2D Mario games, etc

Right, since Pikmin 3, Sonic Lost World, Mario 3D World, Lego City, Zelda WW HD, TW101, & two 2d New Mario/Luigi games have created SO much demand for the Wii U.  It's down to the big two games coming out next year, if they don't reverse the Wii U's situation dramaticaly then yes, the Wii U is cooked & a new Zelda in 2016 won't have any effect since the system will be on life support at that point.  Honestly if that is what happens than Zelda may just be pushed to what ever platform Nintendo choose to develope for next.
