Someone needs to make a website explaining how the gaming industry works along with its history and trends so people can stop making stupid, uninformed, unintelligent remarks on it. And maybe include some grammar lessons too. And some lessons in respect, because why not?

Nintendo becoming 3rd party or discontinuing the Wii U would be catastrophic. Any such ideas are the result of things like people getting caught up in doom posts, overexaggeration, not understanding how these things works, or not actually being familiar with the subject at hand. (Or a combination, I guess.)

Seriously though, take it for what it is. Nintendo's far from doomed. It's got the cheapest system out there ($300 and comes with 1 game; some deals make it so you can get even more extra stuff, like another free game, wiimote, whatever, e.g. I recall a bundle with 2 games for only $20 more than the average price), the best current line-up of a "next-gen" (which we should be calling current-gen) system -- multi-plats are bleh, it has some solid exclusives, and a ton of indie support -- and an established line-up for 2014. I say this not to hardcore fans of other systems (for the record I'm also a Sony fan), I say this to Nintendo fans--don't give in to the negativity, keep supporting Nintendo, let the Xbone and PS4 have their moments, they DID just launch 1-2 weeks ago, the only major thing stopping people from desiring a Wii U is the media/publicity, it's highly a matter of psychology. There's seemingly a lot of demand for those systems and that draws people in, people want in on the bandwagon, my brother literally just bought an Xbox One and PS4 and he's not even really a gamer and he's just going to sell the PS4 to try to make a profit, he only really got it because of the general hype over a hard-to-find "next-gen" system.

Point to all this isn't that Wii U is best system, it's that people are overreacting and are addicted to console drama of any kind. And well, I normally just sit by and let things go because there's not much I can do and it really is just a matter of time (nothing will shut people up about "Wii U doomed" until it sells consistently well), but I caved in and decided to rant a bit if only to make myself feel better--the negativity DOES blow, I'm human and it got to me. I feel better now though, I'll be back to see how people are reacting in 1-2 months as I expect a permanent overall increase in Wii U sales, such that the system will, if nothing else, become "relevant", which should be enough to destroy most doomed theories, or so I hope. Not expecting Wii U to outsell the PS4 or Xbox One as they launch, but I do expect the Wii U to have a consistent sales presence, not just 5k or even 20k sold a week.

...that was quite a rant, I probably didn't even make sense, but whatever, it is what it is. Time to go play my Vita
