Wii was successful businesswise. The Wii made by far the most money of the 3 home gaming systems in the 7th generation, and even if the PS3 would go on to oustell the Wii in the long run (since Sony systems tend to have long legs), Wii would still be the most successful one out of the bunch, economically.

Sony and Microsoft might have made less overall, but they destroyed Nintendo in overall third party sales.

and? First party titles make the company more money.

Thats great. Nintendo expressed regret with not having the core titles and making profit off of them like their competitors. That was probably their only regret with the Wii.

i

had nintendo (unsuccessfully) tried to appease to 3rd parties with wii, it wouldn't have been the success it was.

Don't let bias cloud your judgement. Nintendo sold solidly over sixty million in sales with third parties on their side.

i

bias? what are you talking about?

the wii simply  wouldn' have been what it was had the system been another GC. and like i told you before, nintendo games dominated nes and snes, just like all their other systems.

Nintendo lacked third party on the GC and everyone thought the system was just for children. Look up any review of what people thought about the Gamecube, it was killed by the perception around it rather than what it truly had. Nintendo dominated the gaming world when they had third parties strongly with them and weak competition.
