It's hard to know really. The closed ecosystems of the consoles makes it very hard to mod for games outside of the very few that even offer modding tools, which are usually built-in systems that only offer prebaked assets and tools.

On the other hand there has been more and more talk about mods in the run up to this gen and its my hope that Sony and/or MS will implement their own versions of Steam Workshop for instance.

I hope so too.

It is a big reason why I am still contemplating whether or not I keep my PS4 that I have had preordered since June. If come post Black Friday the console sells for $800+, it is being sold.

I enjoy the hell out of Skyrim, and the biggest reason why is because thanks to mods this game has so much incredible replay value. I can literally make it feel like a brand new game.

Can't get that on consoles. You buy a $60 game and what you buy is what you get.

I like paying $50-60 and what you buy is the beginning of what you get.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
