Tl:dr 1

I quit hardcore gaming because of the immature "Manchilds/Hipster chikz/Neckbeards" gamer community and game developers and how everything is basically a business rather than a game

Tl:dr 2

my favorite games are either considered "casual" or "obscure"  Basically everything Nintendo and Sony Japan (not SCEA or SCEE) makes, along with other Japanese developers that aren't "westernized" like Capcom and Square Enix

Stuff like Mario, Wii Party U, Animal Crossing, Gravity Rush, Zero Escape, Persona, Nancy Drew, Casual Point and Click games, Final Fantasy, Tales Of...etc

Stuff I don't like is basically every hyped game nowadays, all PS4 and Xbox One exclusives are barely interesting, Titan Fall is generic as fuck, Killzone is more of the same, Ryse is just... bad, Infamous is as bland as a Linkin Park album (same fanbase), Driveclub and Forza the only reason people are hyped for them because they're exclusive.

Yeah, I agree with you. Having less time myself, but that's not why I would never want to be called a "gamer".

I just hate the fucking sense of... Arrogance? Entitlement? I don't know the right word, but I feel more and more people are having meta conversations about gaming than actually just shutting up, playing games, and having honest conversations about games.

It's also promoting what I consider to be unhealthy habits. Playing for excessive amounts of time, collecting achievements, pwning each other.

I just don't want to be associated as a gamer if that's the image gamers try to create.
