The XB1 with Kinect will really change how people utilize their TVs. I saw the commercial from Samsung where the person holds the remote to their mouth and can say a basic command and the tv does it. My first thought was, why the hell would you pick up a remote to do a "hands free" thing? A lot of the people who hate on the Kinect don't really understand what they are going to miss. Especially someone that claims to be buying the XB1 and not hooking the Kinect up. That's just being silly. I think that there will be a number of people out there coming up with different things for the XB1 and Kinect to do. I think those things will be brought into the system over time through dashboard updates. Just can't wait to use it...

I know Samsung spends Billions on research, but that just seems silly.  Why  not just make a phone app that does that?

I know they also had a 'hands free' system they released a few years ago. I heard it was ten times worse than the worse kinect/wii game and would do stuff on it's own.

I don't get why they don't just license Kinect from Microsoft?  They worked together with the release of their HD TV and the Xbox 360.  I wonder if they got into  a spat or something.

Being able to speak and have it find a station or perhapse even a TV show will be a very nice thing.  As with anything, I'm sure they will be some learning curves and growing pains.  I got Kinect before it worked with Netflix - and I remember someone trying to make a class action lawsuit.  They didn't add Bing Voice search to the Xbox until 2011.  Now it seems like it was always there.

yeap TV channel search will be great.... cause I always forgot some... the other day I was looking for game one it took me 15 minutes to find it with the remote (I passed over it a couple time because it is hidden between a bunch of foreign news channel with my provider)

this is a great exemple of how shitty a remote can be that no anti voice command can argue with.... you have three choices here.... either you learn the entire TV channel list, either you navigate with a remote and miss the begining of the program, or you accept to embrace your god damn era and use voice command because it is just more convenient when done right.....
